Misaki Morino
Born in Okayama prefecture, Misaki Morino began to study piano as a youngster. From age 15 she concentrated on the study of voice, winning first prize in her first competition. Graduating in voice from the Tokyo National University of the Arts, she received scholarships from the Rohm Music Foundation and Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. She pursued advanced studies in voice in Vienna, earning a Master’s Degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Kunst.

Now based professionally in Vienna, she has performed a wealth of operatic roles in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, South Africa, and Japan, singing in four languages. She is a regular soloist at the Wiener Musikverein, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, and Saint Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. Recently, she appeared in Tokyo under Robert Rÿker as soprano soloist in memorable performance of Johannes Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem.
